Gartan’s Book – 10/13/10

1048 words.

The captain tries to shut the girl up but she won’t stop screaming.  When no one comes to see about the girl, the captain realizes that something is wrong.  Very wrong.  She assumes that the protag has gotten past their defenses and done some sort of evil and the captain is pretty ticked.  She carries the girl out of the house and calls her men to her and gives them orders.  The girl, in the meantime, jumps up runs back into the house, gets back in her chair and sits in it with her hands clamped over her mouth, her eyes squeezed shut, and rocking back and forth.  The captain goes in with her two best men and another mage guarding the skies.  She goes in and finds the governor slumped in a chair in the middle of an empty room with a pentagram enscribed in a circle on the floor.  One of her men walk through a beam of magic (that the captain can see but her man couldn’t).  The man looks back at her with his eyes wide and then the captain is flying through the air.

  1. Another surprise. This book is going to keep people up at night. Good job. Onward.
